Literacy Gold helps KS1-KS3 struggling readers catch up by addressing the underlying reasons children fall behind:
1. Poor Phonological Awareness – which means children are unable to hear individual sounds in words, they can’t hear that there are three sounds in g-oa-t.
2. Poor Eye Control - To read you need to be able to focus both eyes on the same letter and track across the page. Poor eye control can make you reverse letters, skip words or lines, and lose your place when you read.
