Autism Central is a peer education programme, commissioned by the NHS. It aims to build knowledge and understanding of autism and empower families and carers to advocate for autistic people they support.

Commenced last year 1st October 2025, the Autism Central programme transitioned to be led by Anna Freud, a world-leading mental health charity with a strong background in supporting children, young people, families, and the professionals around them.

The Anna Freud delivery model is rooted in lived experience and strengthened by research, working in partnership with UCL’s Group for Research in Relationships And NeuroDiversity (GRRAND).
