Wrexham University & Empower ADHD: Rethinking ADHD Student Support
In this interview, Sarah Roberts and Ellen Coleman from Wrexham University discuss the needs of their students with ADHD and why a one-size-fits-all approach does not always provide the support they need to thrive.
They explain why Wrexham University is collaborating with Empower ADHD to develop a more tailored, evidence-based and ADHD-informed approach, complementing the University’s existing Disability Support Services with specialist ADHD coaching, education and practical strategies.
The collaboration aims to help students understand themselves through the ADHD lens, recognise their strengths and develop practical ways to navigate challenges such as executive dysfunction, time management, overwhelm and self-advocacy.
Together, Wrexham University and Empower ADHD are working towards an important shift: moving beyond reasonable adjustments to sustainable student success - empowering students with understanding, strategies and support they can carry through university and into their future.
