Immaturities in the nervous  system, distorted hearing patterns and biochemical imbalances can all interfere with school work, making it harder to focus and take in what is being taught. 

These ‘blockages’ cause many children to underperform relative to their intelligence, creating dependencies on frequent repetition and compensation techniques.
