AI That Works: Practical Tools for SEND in Mainstream Classrooms

10 Oct 2026
Cognition and learning Communication and interaction Physical and Sensory Difficulties

AI is everywhere, but what does it actually look like in a mainstream classroom supporting learners with SEND? This hands-on seminar cuts through the noise to show you what works right now: adapting resources to match reading ages without patronising students, turning mountains of documentation into usable one-page profiles, creating social stories with AI-generated images, and navigating data safety so you know which tools are safe for student information. You'll leave with practical prompts, a clear framework, and the confidence to start your AI journey on Monday morning.

Target audience: SENCO’s / Leaders, Practitioners / Support staff

Target Key Stage: KS2-5

Settings Targeted: School
SEND Focus: Autism, dyslexia, ADHD

  • Adapt learning resources to a student's reading age using simple prompt techniques that maintain age-appropriate content and tone.
  • Streamline SEND documentation by using AI to synthesise student profiles, IEP targets, and strategy sheets from existing records.
