Developing practical maths skills for those that find maths challenging
This seminar will look at some simple steps for underpinning the foundations of maths learning in a mainstream setting for students with SEND or who find maths challenging.
It will highlight the importance of prenumber skills, the understanding of maths language, the definition of ‘conservation of number’ and explore the building blocks for many maths concepts including time and money. Providing classroom-ready solutions, it will demonstrate using readily and common maths aids how to bring simple maths concepts to life.
