Including learners with medical needs in mainstream settings

This presentation presents the findings from the long-term research project looking at the impact that long term physical health conditions have on children’s school lives, examining the use of individual healthcare plans to support improved attendance for this cohort, enabling them to thrive, not just survive. There will be opportunities to learn more about what children say are the main challenges for them in their mainstream schools, how they feel that schools can better work with health colleagues and some ideas for additional resources to trial to support inclusive practices for this vulnerable cohort.
