Targeted Plus in Action: A Practical Guide to One-to-One Literacy Intervention for SEND

This session explores how to deliver high-impact one-to-one literacy intervention for pupils with SEND at Targeted Plus level. Drawing on real-world practice, it will share practical, evidence-informed strategies to engage reluctant and neurodivergent learners through personalised teaching, meaningful texts and structured approaches that accelerate reading, spelling and writing progress.
With a strong trauma-informed lens, the session highlights how relationships, consistency and emotionally safe environments unlock learning. Attendees will leave with clear, adaptable strategies and insights that can be implemented immediately across schools and alternative provision settings.
