SEND Caseworker Teams and Schools – Working Together Effectviely
SEND caseworkers teams and SEND officers are central to the development, co-ordination and maintenance of EHC needs assessments and plans are the outward facing SEND delivery arm of the local authority. As with SENCOs, the growing number of EHC plans has placed significant challenges on this workforce.
This seminar will examine the challenges both groups face, and explore how schools and LAs can work together more effectively on EHCP issues.
By the end of this session you should be able to:
• SENCOs will understand the broad role of LA SEND Caseworkers.
• SENCos and SEND Caseworkers will be able to communicate and work together more efficiently and supportively.
• There will be improvements in how annual review processes are scheduled and documented.
• Co-production and communication systems between parents and SEN caseworkers will improve
