Adapting the curriculum to support young people working significantly-below age related expectations in a mainstream school

Formby High School was named the first TES Inclusive School of the Year in 2023, following our response to supporting students working significantly below age related expectations. Our approach was to re-define what mainstream education could look like. We developed the ‘Reaching High’ curriculum to support young people to re-engage, make progress, thrive and make positive transitions into Post-16 settings. We will share our journey and how we have achieved this along with a case study showing the difference this has made.
