The Graduated Approach can be a powerful tool with the potential to transform how schools address barriers to learning for all children. Too often, however, it is seen as a procedural requirement to gather evidence for applications for high needs assessments, rather than an opportunity for proactive intervention and support. By refreshing its purpose and rethinking its broader applications, schools can utilise the Graduated Approach as an engine that drives inclusive school improvement for all.
