Adam Webster
Adam Webster is CEO at Sphinx AI & Deputy Head (Innovation), Caterham School.
Adam began teaching English in 2006, quickly becoming involved in technology in education, overseeing the introduction of the first UK iPad school program. More recently Adam co-founded edtech start up Sphinx AI, a part of Caterham School, building AI platforms to solve schools’ most difficult problems.
Sphinx AI launched RileyBot, the first AI chatbot built exclusively for schools, at BETT in February 2024. Since then, RileyBot has been rolled out to Caterham’s partner schools in the East Surrey Learning Partnership and to maintained and independent schools in other regions. Later this year, Sphinx AI will launch their second product, ‘Chip’, a platform which combines academic and pastoral pupil information in one place to give teachers a holistic and real time picture of the well-being and academic progress of individuals and pupil cohorts (it also helps teachers with marking and report writing!)
Adam has extensive safeguarding experience, particularly utilising technology to help young people and parents across a range of pastoral challenges. He is a regular writer and speaker delivering a TEDx talk on the importance of disruption and change in education. He has also spoken at Google and HMC.
