Asma Khanum is a Speech and Language Therapist, social entrepreneur and CEO and Founder of Chatterbug Speech and Language Therapy Service. With more than two decades of experience working with children, families and education settings, she is passionate about early intervention, inclusive practice and finding better ways for specialist expertise and education to work together.

Asma combines clinical expertise with experience of leading, redesigning and innovating services. She is particularly interested in how new models, technology and workforce development can help move support closer to children and reduce reliance on referral, assessment and waiting. Her approach to innovation is practical: understanding what is not working, getting to the root of why, and building solutions that improve outcomes for children and make life easier for the adults supporting them.

She also brings lived experience as a neurodivergent parent and professional, which gives her a perspective spanning clinician, parent and service leader. Known for asking why systems work as they do, she challenges audiences to think differently about communication, inclusion and the role schools can play in creating earlier, more sustainable support.

A recipient of the ASLTIP and Liverpool Growth Catalyst Leadership Award, Asma has also contributed to the BBC’s Tiny Happy People parenting content. Asma is a warm, thought-provoking and practical speaker, helping educators turn complex ideas and emerging changes into meaningful action in everyday practice.
