Christina Welsh

Education Programme Manager, Council for Disabled Children

Christina supports the Education and Equalities team in co-ordinating the Early Years SEND Partnership programme and Special Educational Consortium. Christina also supports in training events with parents and practitioners, preparing resources and writing policy briefings.

Christina has worked in the education nonprofit sector for seven years, developing national, regional, and global education programmes for underserved communities. During the pandemic, she oversaw the development of a series of digital learning materials that catered to a wide range of learner diversity and SEN. In her previous role for a local NGO based in Hong Kong, Christina led a pilot Education for Sustainable Development programme, which involved students from disadvantaged backgrounds engaging in experiential and place-based learning activities to grow their awareness about sustainability issues.

Christina has just completed an MA in Development Education and Global Learning at the Institute of Education at UCL. She wrote her dissertation on the representation of minority groups in Education for Sustainable Development teacher guides.

Christina is passionate about increasing the educational opportunities for young people and is committed to influencing policy to better cater for children with diverse learning needs.
