Claire Thomson is a strategic education leader with expertise in system leadership, inclusion, and SEND. Her career spans national organisations, local authorities, and multi-academy trusts, where she has led large-scale change programmes and service transformation focused on improving provision and practice for SEND and Inclusion.

Claire’s leadership is grounded in a strong personal ethos of transparency, communication, and staff wellbeing, alongside a deep commitment to amplifying the voice and experience of young people. Claire is a DfE Local Authority SEND advisor working on implementing the SEND reforms, and support school improvement for two trusts across the South West including an AP and Special School Trust. Claire also serves as an Ofsted Inspector and contributes to national initiatives such as the NCETM’s SEND Maths Hubs programme.
