Liz Murray is a nationally recognised SEND leader and strategic education advisor with over 25 years’ experience in education. As SEND Director for Supporting Education Group, she works with schools, trusts and organisations nationally to strengthen evidence-informed inclusive practice.

 Formerly Director of SEND for Star Academies, Liz led SEND strategy and school improvement across 36 primary and secondary schools, with a focus on early identification, adaptive teaching and coherent trust-wide approaches to inclusion. 

 Liz has contributed to national SEND policy and professional development through advisory work with the Department for Education, including supporting the development of the NPQ for SENCos. She is a regular speaker and writer on SEND, inclusion and system leadership, and is passionate about empowering leaders to create inclusive cultures and systems that enable children and young people to thrive.
