Fiona Fearon leads NGA’s policy and research work, ensuring that the value and voice of governance are central to policy-making and represented in national education policy discussions.

Before joining NGA, Fiona spent 16 years in teaching and senior leadership roles, primarily working in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and Alternative Provision (AP) schools. She is particularly passionate about seeing educational equity for all children and committed to addressing the structural and systemic barriers that limit opportunities this for certain pupil groups.
