Katherine is the Director of Inclusion at River Learning Trust. She is an experienced teacher and school leader with deep expertise in leading SEND provision, having taught across primary and secondary settings in England and the United States as a class teacher, qualified teacher of the deaf, and autism resource base lead.

Over the past decade, Katherine has focused on working with school leadership teams to develop ambitious, school-wide systems that ensure children and young people with SEND access the high-quality provision and opportunities they deserve to thrive.

Beyond her role at the Trust, Katherine is a member of the DfE’s Expert Panel for National Inclusion Standards and Specialist Provision Packages and serves as Chair of the CST SEND and Inclusion Professional Community. Her national contributions include serving as project director for the Education Endowment Foundation’s SEND Review Trial, lead author for the DfE-commissioned Teacher Handbook: SEND, and contributor to the DfE's NPQ SENCO Content Framework.
