Sera Johnston

Sera Johnston brings over 25 years in the training & development industry, with 18 years in the NHS (11 years as a people manager) and previously in corporate settings, crafting and honing her skills in team, leadership and management development. As a result of Sera’s extensive experience in the industry she was awarded Fellow with the Institute of CPD.

As a L&D Strategist, CPD accredited training provider and CPD accredited coach, Sera’s ability to understand and quickly identify underlining issues faced by organisations is matched by her unique approach in achieving results through collaborative working. Her drive to supporting leaders, managers, teams and organisations to evolve and thrive is in her DNA. Confronting challenges to cultivate a thriving workplace environment, in a positive intentional way that acknowledges existing issues within team dynamics and management approaches, while equipping leaders and managers with the right skills at the right time to stand out authentically are Sera’s specialities.

Her ethos is enabling change that is embedded in the workplace and not just delivered in the training room, by providing tailored solutions specific to the need rather than just the want, without a cookie cutter approach. Delivering Coaching skills to clinicians working in early years services across clinical and school settings enabling fluid conversational discussions resulting in the desired outcomes without confusion or delays.

In addition, Sera is a three times International Bestselling Author, featured in publications such as the Metro and Thrive Global, speaker at the Thought Leadership conference and named top 10 inspirational woman by Global Woman magazine. Qualified as a Master NLP Practitioner, Coaching Supervisor, Health Coach, Emotional Intelligence (ECR 360) Facilitator/trainer, Transactional Analysis and currently completing a Trainer Certificate in Neurodiversity and Inclusion, is a member of the Association of NLP, UKI Health Coaching Association and Association of Coaching.

Beyond Sera’s professional experience and achievements, her personal journey of raising her disabled daughter, diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 13 months old, has provided firsthand insights into navigating life’s unexpected challenges as a working parent.

In 2011, Sera fundraised £75,000 in 6 months in order for her daughter to have a life changing operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy in America. Over the years, she has gone on to defy the professionals, who predicted she would not be able to hold a pen and would be confined to a wheelchair for life. Today, having achieved a Law degree and Masters in International Law, works for global company in London and lives independently.

In 2019, Sera was part of an NHS Steering Group which resulted in Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy approved and commissioned as an NHS service by NHS England for children with Cerebral Palsy aged 3-9. Sera continues to empower and support parents of children with disabilities worldwide guiding them to reclaim their identity and liberating from self-imposed labels, enabling them to step into their authentic self and use their voice effectively.

Given all Sera’s experience as a manager, trainer, facilitator, coach and mentor she is uniquely positioned to support parents, teams and organisations.
