Stephen Parkinson is the founder of Player Ready Level Up! Alternative Provision that has venues throughout the UK and a fast-expanding, successful online provision service. Player Ready is an innovative immersive learning and virtual reality company that works extensively with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). With a background in technology, training, and inclusive programme design, Stephen has built a career on bridging the gap between cutting-edge digital experiences and accessible, meaningful education which help equip children with skills needed on the life journey as well as in the learning environment.
At Player Ready, Stephen leads on developing inclusive, differentiated learning resources that are adaptable for a wide range of learners, including those with autism, PDA, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical or sensory needs. His work emphasises universal design for learning (UDL) principles, ensuring every child can engage, participate, and thrive.
Stephen has collaborated with schools, Alternative Provisions, and community organisations to design programmes that not only enhance engagement, but also support social, emotional, and cognitive development through gamified and immersive technology. His practice aligns closely with the Equality Act 2010, Public Sector Equality Duty, and the latest KCSIE guidance, embedding safeguarding, inclusivity, and accessibility into every strand of delivery.
Passionate about celebrating diversity, Stephen is also a vocal advocate for inclusion for all in learning environments, ensuring that digital and physical spaces are welcoming and accessible.
